For those who are interested in pursuing a career as a Private Investigator you must hold a Queensland licence pursuant to the Security Providers Act 1993 (Qld) which is regulated by the Office of Fair Trading, www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au
To successfully apply for a Private Investigators licence you must first attain a Certificate in Investigative Services. We recommend that you seriously consider cert. IV and not cert. III as promoted by most organizations. The Office of Fair Trading can provide you with a list of accredited training providers. Take note that you will need to undergo a Government/Police security clearance procedure to obtain your licence
If you are interested in pursuing a career as a Commercial Agent, again we suggest you contact the Office of Fair Trading for more information regarding licensing requirements.
